Studies in 1st Letter of John

There's a life at the heart of the universe more amazing than anything which science can discover - the life of God. And that life is not an impersonal particle of physics, but Jesus Christ.

At least that's the contention of John in his letter which we make our main teaching focus this term. John writes it as if he's walking up and down a spiral staircase so that at every turn and from any angle we are looking at the life of God revealed in the person of Jesus.

Therefore to follow Christ is to be in touch with the very One who creates the galaxies and the smallest elements of matter, the One who knows us because He has made us. And perhaps the greatest truth of all - Jesus is the One who loves and forgives us even when we restlessly search for the meaning of life outside Him.
