The Arts at Highfields - Ted Turnau

We are delighted that Ted Turnau Open in new window is to be contributing and speaking at three events at the beginning of August following the publication of his latest book Oasis of Imagination Open in new window : Engaging our World through a Better Creativity.

In 2012 Ted published Popologetics Open in new window : Popular Culture in Christian Perspective, and in 2020 co-authored The Pop Culture Parent Open in new window : Helping Kids Engage Their World for Christ

His most recent book Oasis of Imagination Open in new window : Engaging our World through a Better Creativity is being published on 23rd July 2023.

Ted Turnau

Raised in rural Pennsylvania, Ted Turnau attended the University of Virginia (B.A. English), where he met his wife, Carolyn. He then pursued an M.Div. and Ph.D. at Westminster Theological Seminary (his dissertation is on Paul Ricoeur and popular culture).

During his time there, he and Carolyn had three children: Roger, Claire, and Ruth. After completing his Ph.D. in 1999, the whole family moved to Prague and have lived there since. He is now Chair of Journalism and Media Studies at the Anglo-American University Prague. He is a visiting lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences at Charles University. He also teaches at Union School of Theology in Wales.
