Easter - He has risen

Man seen alive days after coroner pronounces death

In our 'post-truth' world, the Easter story does sound rather like fake news, doesn't it? Do thinking people today really believe that Jesus Christ rose from the dead?

Of course scepticism is nothing new. Within a week of that first Easter, while many of Jesus' followers were convinced He'd risen, even one of His disciples wasn't so sure. However, just seven days later, the sceptic was convinced.

He'd heard the rumours, followed the evidence, weighed the options, and drew his conclusion: Jesus was indeed alive! This is what we believe at Highfields Church, we are convinced HE IS ALIVE.

We would love for you to join with us this Easter, to celebrate or find out more about what we as Christians believe.

We will have one service on Good Friday at 10.30am at Cathays to remember why Jesus died on the cross. On Easter Sunday, 16th April we celebrate that Jesus is alive and has conquered death. Follow the links for further details of these services.

The God We Don't Expect

‘Crucifixion’ by Nikolai GeOne would have to write off the Gospel narratives as any kind of historical record, to conclude that Jesus’ followers had expected some sort of miracle after the crucifixion.
