Art for Haiti

The 2010 Haiti earthquake was a catastrophic event: An estimated three million people were affected by the quake, approximately 230,000 people had been identified as dead, an estimated 300,000 injured, and an estimated 1,000,000 homeless. The death toll is still expected to rise. It is also estimated that 250,000 residences and 30,000 commercial buildings had collapsed or were severely damaged.

Many countries have responded to appeals for humanitarian aid, pledging funds and dispatching rescue and medical teams, engineers and support personnel.

We also want to help!

As part of ‘A Passion for Life’ weekend Highfields church, Monthemer road, Cardiff, is hosting Art for Haiti.  Art for Haiti is an art exhibition/auction (but includes clothes and cakes!) to raise money for Tearfund and their work in Haiti. The work of both professional and amateur artists will feature.

How can you help?

The event will start at 6pm on Saturday March 13th and run through to whenever! So come along at the beginning, the end or even for the whole event!  Everything on display has to be sold! All the proceeds go to Tearfund’s work in Haiti.
We’re going to have some great music, refreshments and a fantastic atmosphere…
