Indoor singing allowed

Dear Highfields Church family,

BREAKING NEWS: If you’ve not yet seen it (and yes, it’s far better than a dreary 0-0 draw at Wembley in the Euros…): As of 5.30pm today, INDOOR CONGREGATIONAL SINGING IS BEING ALLOWED IN WALES!

This is such wonderful news, a huge answer to prayer, and the result of lots of behind-the-scenes advocacy work by, among others Sian Rees, from EA (who’s sharing at our P&P on Sunday night). Praise God!

We will still need to wear masks, and the guidance stipulates the indoor space needs to be max 100 people, but that’s the capacity of the chapel on Sundays anyway, so with the elders approval, we’re good to go this Sunday. And what perfect timing to start our evening services again, where we’ll be under less time constraint and thus able to sing more—coming to a Sunday near you, from 27th June at 6.30pm!

I’m sure you’ll join me in praising God for such wonderful news—I don’t think we’ll take such Christian worship for granted again…

Have a super, song-filled, weekend!

your brother,

Dave Gobbett
Lead Pastor
