Rounded Rectangle: Prayer Matters
Rounded Rectangle: Pray Around the Clock
We can pray anytime and anywhere to God. We can say thank you, please or praise prayers. To help remind us of this in Kid’s Church we made
a big clock face on the ground. The children stood in pairs on each number around the clock and thought about what they would usually be doing at that time in the day. We all said a quick prayer thanking God or asking him for something at that time, then we moved onto the next number and did the same again. We carried on until we had worked our way around the whole clock.
How about each member of your family getting their own clock face and together you write prayers around the edge for what you do hour to hour throughout the day.
Rounded Rectangle: Vitamin C Prayer
As Easter time we remembered Jesus dying on the cross to forgive our sins. In Kid’s Church we thought about sorry prayers. We prayed sorry prayers holding onto a dissolvable vitamin tablet, then when we had finished praying we threw it into a paddling pool and watched it disappear. This reminded us that the Bible tells us that God will completely remove our sins from us if we call on him.
If you have your own private pool why not try this at home too! If you don’t have your own pool find a bowl, vase or even the bath. We used vitamin C tablets, but anything else you can get your hands on that dissolves will work. Pray as a family about things you’re sorry about (mums and dads too!) and reflect on God’s promises to take them away forever.
