Rounded Rectangle: Prayer Matters
Rounded Rectangle: Over the last few months in Kid’s Church we have been doing lots of creative praying! Over the next couple of pages you can see what we’ve done and read some suggestions for how you can do them on a smaller scale at home together.
Rounded Rectangle: Link Prayer
As Christians we need to pray for others too. It’s our
job to link them to the cross. In Kid’s Church we
p laced a large cross in the room and linked arms so that
someone was touching a cross and another touching
one of our prayer topics. We prayed for the world, our friends and family and the Dalit children we sponsor.
Think in your family who you would like to pray for. Think of a word or picture to represent them and use your family members to link them to a small cross or a picture of a cross. If you’ve got a smaller family you could make paper chains and link them to the cross as you pray.
Rounded Rectangle: Parachute Prayer
God loves to hear our prayers, the Bible tells us they are like sweet incense rising up to heaven. To help us think about this in Kid’s church we wrote praise prayers and thank you prayers on pieces of paper and put them all in the middle of a big parachute. We then all waved the parachute as hard as we could and watched the prayers go up, up and up!
Why not try something at home to help you think about your prayers going up to heaven, you could use a sheet instead of a parachute and do what we did, or how about sticking some prayers to balls and seeing how high
