Rounded Rectangle: Mission Matters
Rounded Rectangle: So if James Pope gave me 100 pounds (fictional I know) to pass onto you then I would be in your debt until I passed it on to you. This is the sense in which Paul means he is bound, in debt to man. It isn’t that he has borrowed something that he has to pay back to Jesus, but that Jesus has given him this great news of salvation that he has to pass on. This is how we should view the good news of Jesus. We have been given this great news, this treasure, to pass on to the world and to our friends.

Step 3: Remember the five P’s
Some years ago I heard Rico Tice provide his five P’s to a successful invite. I hope you find them as helpful as I have found them.
Be Prayerful: We can only invite. We can’t change people’s hearts and lives; that’s Gods role. So, let’s pray before during and after our invite that God will open own friends heart and eyes to this great news.
Be Positive: Don’t apologise for the event. Avoid saying things like this “I’m sure you won’t be able to come” or “I hope you don’t mind me asking but..” We should have nothing to be ashamed of about the person of Jesus and so let’s be positive with our invite.
Be Precise: Tell them exactly what they are coming to. If there is going to be a gospel talk then let them know.
Be Practical: Say to them “I’ll pick you up from your house at 18:00 and we’ll go together” Let’s be practical and make it as easy and enjoyable for our friend as possible.
5. Be personal: Invite them face to face and do it in a gentle but personal way. Avoid throwing an invite on their office desk or sending them a blanket email/text. Invite them face to face as this is always the best approach.

Finally, remember that God can do immeasurably more than we can ask or imagine.
