Rounded Rectangle: How to use your new family resource Choose some times in the week when the family resource will work for you. Maybe choose one or two slots in the week round a meal and try one of the bigger activities on the weekend. The most important thing is it’s a time that works for your family where everybody can get involved 2) Look through the resource and choose an activity that matches the time you have available and the members of your family. Some of the activities split nicely across the month and some you will have to work out what is best for your family 3) Pray that God will bless your time together, and make sure it’s lots of fun! Rounded Rectangle: Welcome to the first ever ‘Family Matters’ resource from Highfields church. It arrives with you right in the middle of Valentines day and Easter! Do you know that last week there were 1 billion valentines cards sent (second only to Christmas) and the average spend for presents in the UK was £119. From those figures it would seem that love was all around us, but sadly that is not the case as one in three UK marriages fails before reaching the 15th wedding anniversary (office for national statistics). The search for real love continues, just in this last year 904 dating service were set up, people are looking for real love but what are they finding? TV, films and music will tell us that they’ve got the answers, but they haven’t. For real love we can only look to God and his word. That’s what I encourage you as families to do this month. As we run up to Easter spend time together, experience real love and prepare yourselves to celebrate the greatest love ever shown in Jesus Christ God Bless, James
