Rounded Rectangle: Marriage Matters
Rounded Rectangle: Perhaps more than anything else one of the key ingredients to a healthy marriage is time. They say you spell “love”, T-I-M-E. We make time for things we think are important and as Christian husbands and wives we will have healthier, more enjoyable and securer marriages as we invest time in our relationship. That means time on a daily basis to communicate meaningfully with each other. Make it your aim, probably in the evening but really whenever works best for you as a couple, to spend time together. Time talking, listening, laughing, loving and praying together.
Try putting aside time on a weekly basis to have for each other. Go out together, go for a walk, a coffee together, a drive in the car – anything that gives you both the opportunity on a weekly basis to really connect. As you do that, you are saying you matter to each other and your marriage matters to you both. And if possible at least once a year spend a few days together. I don’t mean a family holiday with kids, in-laws and friends, I mean a break for you two alone where you can relax and talk about the things that are going on in your lives. Share your dreams and disappointments, your problems and your plans. Above all, enjoy each other. Pray for, and with, each other and see the grass grow greener your side of the fence!
