Pete and the family have now exchanged the green, green grass of their Cardiff home for sun-baked Phoenix, Arizona where Pete is now spending a couple of years on further studies. Pete writes:

Evans family on a day out at Phoenix Zoo"It's been a month now since the Evans family traveled 5,162 miles around the world from Cardiff to Phoenix in Arizona. The last four weeks have felt pretty crazy as we've met literally hundreds (maybe even thousands) of new people, moved into one house, moved into another one, started a new job, learned how to drive on the right side of the road, processed mountains of paperwork, started to make new friends, got ill multiple times (!), enrolled in University, signed up to play-groups, got over jet-lag and tried to work out where everything is in this massive, sprawling city of over 4.5 million people.

"So we've been kinda busy!

"The good news is that despite all the upheaval, things have gone remarkably smoothly. To all of you who have been praying for us; thank you. We've really known God's help and nearness at this time. It's certainly not easy being so far away from our families, friends and the church that we love so much, but in all of this the Lord has kept us, given us grace to get through each day and provided wonderful, welcoming people here to ease our transition.

"We'll write in more detail about the things we're getting up to next time but we just wanted to get in touch to say 'hi' first and let you know that we're doing well.

"Finally, the picture above was taken on a day out at Phoenix Zoo which was a great day of relaxing and spending time together. Jack loved seeing the animals, particularly the monkeys and spent most of his time talking to them through the railings.

"We miss you all.

"Love Pete, Hannah and Jack"
